Sarbanes Oxley Hotline: External Or Internal
March 19th, 2009 | by admin |Very few pieces of legislation have affected the manner in which publicly-traded corporation go about their financial-reporting business quite the way The Sarbanes Oxley Act of 2002 have. SARBOX (as the law is more commonly known as) is sweeping legislation designed to bring financial accountability back to the halls and foyers of corporate America. And for the most part, the legislation appears to work. The law in essence requires all financial information and reporting within a company to be properly and ethically documented. Aiding in the process is the use of a sarbanes oxley hotline in which all episodes of suspected financial wrongdoing are reported. The manner in which these reports are made are divided between internal and external whistle blowers.
