May 11th, 2008 | by admin |Right now it’s not a question of if our data will be compromised, but when. We’ve made no appreciable efforts toward information security, and management won’t give be the budget to do it myself
So of course it’s fallen to me to take the initiative to learn more about Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards. I’ll also need to find a way to sell it. Perhaps a full-blown risk assessment.
Next time my proposal gets rejected, I should get them to promise to stay up with me in the racks for as long as it takes to fix the next disaster that comes along. Maybe that will give them some perspective.
